Recall that the federal government earlier confirmed the closure of National Identification Number enrolment centres due to the fact that the applicants are violating the Covid-19 Protocols.

The NIMC then advised applicants that the commission will be adopting a number issuing style to manage crowed and also adhere to the laid down Covid-19 protocols.


However, on Tuesday 29th of December, 2020 the federal government of Nigeria has released a new announcement on National Identification Number Enrolment.


The National Identity Management commission (NIMC) has issued new instruction for applicants to obtain their National Identification Number amid the second wave of coronavirus pandemic in the country.


The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) spokesman, Kayode Adegoke, released the announcement in a statement on Tuesday 29th of December.


The spokesman urged applicant to visit any of the NIMC offices closest to them during stipulated business hours (9am-1pm), adding that they should also adhere to all Covid-19 protocols given by the presidential task force on Covid-19.
